OUR DIESEL GENERATOR REPAIR AND UPGRADE SERVICES, ACROSS THE UK

Whatever the size of your generator, you rely on the power to be there when you need it. As well as our team of expert generator solution designers, we are also able to service, repair and upgrade generators as part of our overall power provision service.

Our team has full capability, training and work to certified ISO standards to completely strip and rebuild any type of engine from basic generators through to twin bank diesels, CHP units and locomotives too.

All components we use in the refurbishment of an engine are to the manufacturer’s OEM specification. For older models where replacement parts are unavailable, a reconditioned part may be used but will remain set to a manufacturer’s OEM specification. All reconditioned parts supplied from stock have all undergone a full inspection and factory overhaul and are backed up by a full 180-day warranty.

As well as individual parts, we also specialise in factory reconditioning of sub-assemblies, including; crankshafts, nodal damper couplings, cylinder heads, water pumps, oil pumps, fuel pumps, fuel injectors, turbochargers, connecting rods and intercoolers, etc.

WHY ARE REPAIRS NEEDED?

Generators are built to last many years, but they are mechanical devices with many moving parts and can go wrong. One thing is guaranteed, and that is that if your generator does break down, it will be at an inconvenient time. In situations where power generation is single-source (not backed up by a standby or backup power supply), generator failure will cause downtime. Failures occur for a range of reasons, including improper maintenance, wear and tear, fuel contamination, low fluid levels, sensor malfunctions, controller malfunctions, and more.

Generator owners can help prevent generator breakdowns by investing in proper maintenance and using high-quality fuel (see our fuel polishing service). In the event of a generator breakdown, it is important to call a qualified technician to diagnose and repair the problem as soon as possible. By taking these steps, generator owners can minimize the risk of generator downtime.

GENERATOR SERVICING

Keeping your generator in good working condition is key to preventing unexpected downtime. Regular generator servicing and maintenance can help to extend the life of your generator and prevent expensive repairs in the future.

The WBPS team has the necessary knowledge and experience to ensure that problems are caught before they cause costly outages. In some cases, repairs may be covered by your maintenance contracts, so be sure to check your documentation. Taking care of your generator will help to ensure that it will be there when you need it, and your business or project doesn’t suffer costly downtime.

As part of a maintenance contract, WBPS can provide a 24/7/365 rapid emergency response service, staffed by experienced team members, who can provide immediate assistance over the phone, or, if necessary on-site (normally within 4 hours).
