HOW DOES POWER QUALITY WORK?
Power Quality Surveys are an important part of the process when factoring in your CHP generator installation project. Power quality can be affected by surges and fluctuations, and as part of the quality survey, we will also assess the voltage of all the electrical equipment to ensure it remains within a certain range to prevent any damage.
To ensure reliable power quality, generator operators must monitor the generator and take steps to mitigate any potential problems. Each piece of electrical equipment will have parameters for safe operation, and guidelines as to how far from normal they can vary before power quality is deemed too low.
Whilst fluctuations in voltage will always occur, these fluctuations must be kept within well-defined limits to ensure that equipment that draws power from a generator is safe and protected from damage.
The importance of power quality is so fundamental to the reliable provision of power that we offer separate power quality surveys to measure and monitor the quality of power from your generator sets.
