HOW DONCASTER IS SUPPLIED
Northern Powergrid covers the North East, Yorkshire and northern Lincolnshire, maintaining the lines and substations that serve Doncaster. Storm Éowyn cut power to some 2,000 homes and businesses in Balby overnight into 24 January 2025. Then on 12 March 2026, during a yellow wind warning, two unrelated high-voltage faults blacked out nearly 4,000 homes across the city, and the last six customers were reconnected the next day using temporary generation. Customers who may be eligible can sign up to the Priority Services Register.
