To show thanks to the dedication and commitment shown by Apprentice Daniel Bower at WBPS, his details were submitted for the AMPS Apprentice Of The Year award. After a stringent qualification process Daniel was selected to win this prestigious accolade and the award was presented at the AMPS annual dinner on 9th June 2010. WBPS are proud to employ Daniel as his dedication and customer focussed attitude are a tribute to the company.

To meet the ever changing needs of our clients and to provide a more rounded service, WBPS now operate a 24/7 staffed call centre to answer any out of hours call outs and enquiries. This ensures that no matter what time of day or night, your call is answered and dealt with immediately - improving response times and customer relations. Managing Director, Andrew Wilmott commented "we have always operated an out of hours service, this normally went direct to the duty engineer. Acting upon feedback from our clients, the decision was made to invest in a 24/7 staffed call centre to further improve communication between the company and the client". He added "so far this has been a raging success and we can see it will greatly aid in our customer relations and help us manage increased contact due to continual growth". The centre went live on 1st June 2010.

To cope with ever increasing demand for emergency hire power generation, WB Power Services has recently invested heavily in new equipment to ensure it remains highly competitive. The strong links developed with a wide range of global manufacturers, means that WBPS are able to purchase equipment at extremely keen prices to ensure hire rates are some of the lowest on the market. Andrew Wilmott, MD of WBPS Ltd commented “We needed to ensure our fleet of hire equipment could cover every situation. This means not only having standard equipment, but also trailer based sets that can be offloaded at site quickly and efficiently. Our investment in equipment underpins our ambition to become one of the leading power generator suppliers in the UK.” Recent additions include 4 x 100kva, 3 x 60kva, 4 x 30kva 2 x 25kva, 2 x 250kva, 2 x synchronized 800Kva sets and a second 45 @ 1 tonne hiab unit. This gives a total hire fleet of 60 plus units covering every size from 10kva up 1,600kva of both static and towable generators.

After 6 months of negotiation and continuing a 25 year relationship with one of the top regional utility companies WB Power have been awarded a 5 year framework contract for all generator requirements. The agreement covers not only the service and maintenace of the 240 plus fixed diesel generators but also all temporary generator hire over their 4000 sites. The contract has been designed around one company being used as a true generator one stop shop. Out of the 70 plus companies that registered initial interest WB Power have been chosen because of our flexability of service, commitment to quality and our range of generator Hire fleet.

Du to our continued expansion WB Power are pleased to announce the addition of a further 13 units to our hire fleet. Ranging from 33 Kva to 250 Kva the fully hire ready catapillar generators are complete with onboard distribution. Three of the units have been bult into secure stores including bulk fuel tanks for high risk sites. The units are welcome addition to our comprehensive fleet and are part of an expansion programme which will see a further 20 units added in the next 12 months.

Due to our continued expansion we are pleased to announce that our service office will be relocating to larger offices. The new office kitted out with the latest technology will give our operation and service teams upto the minute information from engineer PDA's on work and vehicle locations, Job progress and for clients taking our monitoring package generator availability and status. The information will be relayed to our team via several large lcd screens ensuring that customers are kept upto date.

After negotiation WB Power are pleased to announce they have been selected as the main service provider for 26 sewage gas powered generators. The generators running 24 hours a day are based throughout the north of england an provide approx 8MW of power back into the national grid. The contract will be managed and operated by our own team of CHP / Gas engineers based throuought the region.

We have been commissioned by Node 4 to provide a complete generation solution for a prestigious new data centre being built in Wakefield. The solution which includes the provision of four generators with initial installation of two 1100kva generators, HV transformers, 12 meter long panel containing a full switch gear and complete UPS distribution for the entire site. The whole package has been designed by our project team and includes the latest state of the art plc controls and power management systems. The panels have even been manufactured and painted in the clients company colours! Due to be completed in March this is the second installation for our client in the past 12 months with a combined package intallation price of over £1 million we are proud that our client has chosen the WB Power team as their sole power generation supplier.

To complement our wide range of generators available for hire we have now added a 33t Hiab vehicle to our fleet. The fully remote controlled hiab will allow us to be more flexible and give us the ability to deliver our own equipment to our customers sites day or night.

The installation which has been tendered to the rigorous specification includes a full acoustic solution and fuel storage and management system. More information to follow shortly.
